I often think to myself… “am I immortalizing this book by burning it”. When I was younger anything off limits was appealing. I wanted to see it touch it and know it because I wasn’t allowed to have it. The sad truth is that never really disappears in humans. We just mature and learn to handle it better. So back to my self asked question ” am I immortalizing it”? Partly, yes of course. But partly, no. That is why in addition to burning and destroying these texts one must be educated and have a proper understanding of the benefits. When buying a product most people will want a basic understanding of it in order to properly asses its necessity. Therefore, it is the exact same with the rhetoric of burning books.  If I am to persuade you that it is okay and the right choice I would need to educate you and explain why.
