The Catcher and The Flame…

My thoughts of this old novel grow and bumbard my memories as it burns. I begin to feel the sandess I once felt before I quit reading. I used to be an advocate you see. I was one of the fighters. One of the main resistence. I belived that people should read to expand their minds and grow as an indivdual. But quickly I learned that humans are a repititious creature. They never seem to learn. Especially when it comes to war. War and knowledge go hand and hand. It is no longer wars on people or land but on knowledge. It is who knows the most. There for people will say and do anything to get the power they need. Therefore, the only thing you can trust is a set rutine. One that is proven to be successful and prevent hardships from happening. That is why I burn the books the only other option is to allow people to suffer.

  1. Hello Mr. Cide,
I feel sad that you gave up reading. There truly is so much we can learn from books (for example the reasons why leaves change colors in the autumn). I get that you feel frustrated, but I ask you to keep the flame lit burning for knowledge inside of you. My uncle always said there is a season for everything. He read it from the Book of Ecclesiastes. There too will be a time for literature again. –Clarisse McClellan
